Jesus de Friend of sinners

Men want only the strong, the successful, the victorious, the unbroken, in building their kingdoms; but God is the God of the unsuccessful, of those who have failed.

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said to them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Matthew 9:10-13)

Heaven is filling with earth's broken lives, 

and there is no bruised reed that Christ cannot take 

and restore to glorious blessedness and beauty.

He can take the life crushed by pain or sorrow 

and make it into a harp whose music shall be all praise. 

He can lift earth's saddest failure up to heaven's glory.
