Men want only the strong, the successful, the victorious, the unbroken, in building their kingdoms; but God is the God of the unsuccessful, of those who have failed.
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said to them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Matthew 9:10-13)
Heaven is filling with earth's broken lives,
and there is no bruised reed that Christ cannot take
and restore to glorious blessedness and beauty.
He can take the life crushed by pain or sorrow
and make it into a harp whose music shall be all praise.
He can lift earth's saddest failure up to heaven's glory.
~ J. R. Miller
Like Oswald Chambers said: leave the broken, irreversible past in God’s hands, and step out into the invincible future with Him!

So good! Yes! Yes! Yes! If it wasn't for His great mercy, compassion and GRACE, none of us would make it!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful thoughts. I am so thankful that when I am at my worst, He is still there at His best. Is that you playing the harp. I play the dulcimer - not the same thing but I love stringed instruments.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThank you for the beautiful reminder. My husband and I perform a waltz, dancing to a song called "The Thorn." It has a salvation message and also speaks about a bird who sings most sweetly when it is pierced by a thorn. Praise God that He can give us beauty for ashes.

Only God has the power to heal and save to the uttermost! So thankful He saved me.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenZo mooi! Gisteren was het Heilig Avondmaal bij ons: 'Deze ontvangt zondaars en eet met hen...!'
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAmen! That is such encouragement to our souls! So beautiful. And I love the picture of the harp and the one playing on the harp. Such a picture of soothing calm...yes, Jesus IS the friend of sinners! And we are blessed.
