Eve, my blog friend reminded me of choosing my One Word. Years ago I chose the word joy. Do you like this One Word idea too?
Different than resolutions, such an One Word isn’t a constant reminder of what you “should be doing”. Instead, it stands to inspire how you want to live.*
I was thinking (and praying) last week and tonight this word came into my mind: REMEMBER. I choose the word “remember” as my One Word because I should remind myself God sovereignly controls every circumstance in my life.
- How can I have faith in times of crisis
- Trusting God (even when life hurts)
Psalm 77 said:
I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with my own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favorable no more?Is his mercy clean gone for ever? does his promise fail for ever more? Has God forgotten to be gracious? has he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah. And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. Iwill remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember your wonders of old. I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings. Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
STONES OF REMEMBRANCE
What’s your word for 2018? Would you like to share your "stones of remembrance” symbolizing God's faithfulness in your lives with me? I like the idea I found here:

Take a moment now to reflect on God’s blessings, grace, and power in your life. Write down what you remember and make two copies … one to keep, and one to give to someone else as a witness of what He has done for you. Then praise God for Jesus, His living, lasting Stone. (Anne Graham Lotz)
This is a wonderful post. Sometimes when I can not get to sleep, I try to think of things to be thankful for, that start with each letter of the alphabet. I never make it to the letter Z, because I am fast asleep!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like the idea of a word!!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI've never chosen a word for the year - remember is a great word. One of my favorite words is Joy. I'll chose that.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenRemember is a good word and a good thing to do when it is about God.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have never chosen a word. Maybe this year I will try. :)

Remember! What an excellent word for the new year. Yes, Remember all that the Lord has done for us. So powerful. My new One Word for 2018 is Renew. I am expecting God to bring about renewal in my heart and life in this new year. I know there will be some work involved for me...but it will be worth it..to be renewed, restored, revived...and then I will Remember as well what the Lord has done. Thank you for sharing this with us. Happy New Year!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderen2 Timothy 2:8: "Remember Jesus Christ raised from among the dead, of the seed of David, according to my glad tidings".

Thank you so much David, for that Scripture!!!
VerwijderenThat's great-- remember!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSomeone, some day, should write a their life story and name each chapter after their word for the year. Then we can see it in action!
Mine is move, like how mountains move.
Previous years were Promise (God's promise) and See.
