I love my abide pendant

Spurgeon's sermon (John 15) was a blessing for me.

Abide in Christ, and let His words abide in you. Closer, closer, closer, this is the way to spiritual wealth. To dwell in communion with Jesus is to abide in the sunshine, and to rest in His great love and atoning sacrifice is to nestle under the Rock of Ages, and to be shielded from every withering blast. "Nearer to God" is the way to greater fruitfulness.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches: He that stays in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. (John 15:4,5)

BEAUTIFUL PENDANT

Later, one of my (online) friends put a nice handmade pendent on her instagram, lettered with blue India ink. You see it all in the picture. I like the blue & white! I like the beautiful leafwreath. And I LOVE the word Abide
She also used such nice hashtags: #abide #abideinme #iamthevine #youarethebranches #bearfruitinChrist #inchristalone šŸ’™

FOR MY BIRTHDAY

My husband bought this pendant for my birthday (November 18). It made the long journey to the Netherlands. I think it's Chelsey's first article to Europe.

I am so happy with this pendant. It reminds me of the scripture from John "if we abide in Him, He will abide in us."

  6. Little wonder that Jesus spoke so much that last night about abiding in him. (John 14-17) In that abiding is our security. Some find this frightening and want a locked-in relationship with him. They look at themselves and know how untrustworthy they are and they panic. We need to look at Jesus; faith is simply keeping our eyes on him.
When we look at him, what do we see? We do not see one who is watching eagerly to find a reason to run away in offense and leave us. No, instead we find the One who has relentlessly pursued us until we turned to meet him. We see the One who died to save us and will never leave us or forsake us. We must not forsake him. If we do, he does not stop his pursuit, but surprisingly our desertion of Him makes it harder for us to trust again.

The phrase I especially loved is "In that abiding is our security."

  8. That is so beautiful! Abide. It's so easy to forget amidst the chaos and responsibilities one day can hold, but it is what really matters. Abiding in Jesus. Thank you for this reminder.

    And Happy Birthday!
