TURN YOUR EYES
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free!
Refrain:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conqu’rors we are!
I have so many favorites! Most of my favorites are the older songs, but I do love the sound of a few of the newer "hymns" by Getty or those that have that kind of flavor. You sent me a song one time that had some male singers out on the sea in a boat, and they sang a song I loved but was not familiar with. The Christian songs have "soul" that other secular songs do not have, in my way of thinking. The Christian music has a way of drawing me closer to God, especially the older music. It lifts my soul. It encourages my faith. It inspires me to do better. Music is multi-faceted in it's capacity to do good to the hearer.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPraise God that we can worship Him in song! My birthday verse is Eph. 5:19, which I love, as it says we should speak to one another in hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs, always making melody in our heart to the Lord. I love singing specials in church, often to Christian lyrics I have written to secular tunes. Thanks for the great post and God bless!

AMEN!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou encourage people so much!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat is one of my most favorite hymns, Ariella. It reminds me to get my mind off my circumstances and on to Jesus who is in control of them. I am actually doing a study right now on the book of Colossians, which is reminding me that I am complete in HIM!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI have many favorites, but one of them is 'Here I am Lord'.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHave a peaceful Sunday, Ariella.
